Iris Beckwith

Iris Beckwith — President, connectED4safety

In keeping with the universal mandate to keep our kids safe, Schoolwires has partnered with Iris K. Beckwith, lecturer and child advocate, who
has spent 16 years of her professional career presenting to children, educators, families and law enforcement with abuse prevention, Internet safety and technology education. Schoolwires, through its technology continues to strive for ways that technology and its aggressive evolution can support a safe learning environment and partners with Mrs. Beckwith as an advisor in this capacity.


Prior to forming connectED4safety LLC, Mrs. Beckwith worked as
Vice President of Program and Partner Relations with the Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe), where she worked to bring Internet safety
and connected technology education across the country.


Before her tenure with iKeepSafe, Iris worked for 10 years with Childhelp — ending her work there as Director of Abuse Prevention Education for Children. She lectured on child abuse recognition and response, was a certified trainer for the Good-Touch/Bad-Touch — program, and facilitated the delivery of abuse prevention programs that have reached more than 25,000 students.

Through a Childhelp/AOL collaboration, the "SafetyBot" Robot Assembly Program, she personally presented Internet safety education to over 40,000 elementary school children in 140 schools. She has been interviewed for numerous television, radio, newspaper and magazine stories on both child abuse and Internet safety.

Iris presents at major conferences and events across the nation including online seminars for educators through Penn State University's Ed Lion program and participated in media events with iKeepSafe and Symantec to recognize Governors and Attorneys General throughout the United States for their roles promoting online safety.
