John Bailey — Former Deputy Policy Director,
United States Department of Commerce

John most recently served at the White  House, where his  responsibilities included efforts to coordinate education and labor issues during the 2008 credit  crisis. John previously served as Deputy Policy Director at the
U.S. Department of Commerce, where he advised the Secretary on immigration reform, pandemic influenza, health care policy, technology, and telecom policy. In 2002, he was appointed the nation's second Director of Educational Technology where he managed over $800 million in annual grants and research projects. From 1995-2001, John served
as Pennsylvania's first Director of Educational Technology where he led several initiatives to expand online learning and improve technology
in education. John also brings a breadth of experience from the
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he managed a portfolio of national advocacy grants. John joined the Education Practice at Dutko Worldwide
in May of 2009.
