This is your call to share your knowledge, innovative ideas, tips & tricks and best practices with your colleagues from across the country.

  • How have Schoolwires solutions helped you make strides in your community?

Presentations are due by October 16, 2009.
 
Clients whose presentations are selected will receive a 50% savings off of the conference registration fee, plus one free hotel night at Hershey Lodge during the conference.

OVERVIEW PROCESS

Presentations will be evaluated by a team of your peers based on the selection criteria outlined below. Team members representing school districts from across the nation have voluntarily given their time to review submissions and work with Schoolwires to create an information-rich agenda.

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS TIMELINE

Call for Presentations: August 24, 2009 - October 16, 2009

Submission Deadline: October 16, 2009
(All submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail upon receipt)

Review Period: October 19, 2009 - October 30, 2009
(Program Planning Committee will review all presentations)

Acceptance Notification: November 6, 2009
(Notifications will be e-mailed to all who submitted presentations)

REQUIRED INFORMATION
 
Please note that you do not need to have a full presentation in place at this time, just a general sense of what you would like to contribute to the selected session topics. Please have the following information prepared before you begin to complete the submission form. You will need to enter this information into the form once and hit submit. The form cannot be saved or edited.

Concurrent Educational Sessions:
1. Track and session topic to which the presentation relates
2. Proposed presentation title or topic addressed (25 word maximum)
3. Presentation objectives and brief description (300 word maximum)
4. Presentation submission contact information

Topic List:
Below is the list of proposed session track and themes. You will be required to indicate which topic your presentation relates to. You are welcome to submit a presentation for more than one track and theme.

REVIEW AND SELECTION INFORMATION

Review Criteria:

Relevance to attendees and session topic and themes

A well-defined topic with focused objectives

Timeliness of topic

Original material

Overall perceived level and quality of session content

Completeness of presentation

The presentation gives a clear and concise picture of what the proposed session will cover and what outcomes will be achieved

The presentation is well written (i.e., correct spelling, grammar, and construction)
and complete

Speaker qualifications, including: previous presentations in topic area and
speaking experience of presenter(s)

The Conference Program Committee reserves to the right to:
  • Select any - or none - of the submissions. A presentation may be exceptional but inconsistent with the goals of the Program Planning Committee, duplicate another session, or prove otherwise not acceptable
  • Make decisions based on limited meeting space
  • Contact the applicants before, during and after the review process for clarification

SPEAKER OBLIGATIONS AND AGREEMENTS

The Speaker must:
  • Register for the conference (The presenter and up to one co-presenter will receive 50% off of the conference registration fee, plus one free hotel night at Hershey Lodge during the conference. The discount does not apply to pre-conference events.)
  • Provide a soft copy of their presentation to Schoolwires for the Conference CD
  • Submit their bio, presentation, handouts, and AV support requirements by the specified deadline dates
  • Submit a final presentation and handouts to Schoolwires by April 16, 2010
  • Work with the Program Planning Committee members to refine the presentation so that it meets the goals for the session
  • Check in on-site at Speaker Registration and the Speaker Ready Room to review your final presentation and that it displays properly with the AV equipment
  • Schoolwires will schedule several on-site presenters meetings once the program has been finalized.
