05.27.09 Evergreen Public Schools Select Schoolwires Centricity and Synergy Solutions

Communications Platform Will Help District Convey Its Brand and Value to Potential and Existing Constituents

State College, Pennsylvania, May 27, 2009 - Schoolwires, one of the nation"s leading providers of strategic website and community management solutions for building stronger school communities, more effective schools and greater student success, announced today that Evergreen Public Schools has licensed the company"s CentricityTM and SynergyTM solutions to better communicate the district"s brand and to make more technology applications easily accessible to teachers, students and staff.

"Our current website and associated tools are difficult to use, and it doesn"t provide us with the applications we need to create a polished and attractive web presence," said Frank Decker, educational technology coordinator at Evergreen Public Schools.  "The Schoolwires platform will give us increased functionality and flexibility so that we can communicate our district"s brand and attract new families and quality employees, while increasing our communications with our existing constituents. And the solution will cost less annually than our current one."

Centricity is the first and only strategic solution for connecting K-12 communities -- an all-in-one, user-centric solution that puts all district and school constituents on the same page. Unlike any other solution, Centricity enables collaboration, works hand-in-hand with digital file sharing, improves communications, enhances operational efficiency, and encourages broad adoption and participation by administrators, teachers, families and students. It is a hosted, on-demand solution designed to offer very high levels of security, performance and reliability. Synergy provides a web-based, centralized and secure solution for creating, editing and sharing content such as documents, files and presentations.

"The Centricity solution is easy enough for non-tech-savvy teachers to create websites and teaching applications, yet it provides the tools for podcasts, flash content and other applications that more sophisticated users demand," said Decker. "Synergy will provide additional electronic tools for teachers to further engage students in the classroom and after hours, all in a secure and easily accessible environment."

"Potential and existing constituents often form a first impression based on a district"s website," said Edward S. Marflak, founder and CEO of Schoolwires. "The Schoolwires platform will help Evergreen Public Schools create a website that properly reflects their brand and the value that they offer to students and the community, and help them attract and retain students and qualified staff in an increasingly competitive environment."
