K-12 thought leaders share promising ideas in education during free webinars from Schoolwires®
State College, Pennsylvania, August 28, 2012 – Schoolwires is launching a series of
free webinars for educators, administrators and others to hear insights and experiences
firsthand from thought leaders about promising ideas in K-12 education. Although the
webinars are free, registration is required.
The webinar series is scheduled to run through early November and includes topics such as E-rate, 1:1 learning, flipped learning and preparing students to become citizens of the world. To register for a webinar event, visit http://www.schoolwires.com/events.
The webinars will be presented by experienced thought leaders including Dr. Scott McLeod, who will discuss 1:1 learning. McLeod is the Founding Director of the UCEACenter for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE) and has been nationally recognized for his technology leadership by the cable industry, Phi Delta Kappa, the National School Boards Association, and the Center for Digital Education.
Other presenters with experience in applying technology to support student success are teacher Jon Bergmann and education consultant Lucy Gray. Bergmann received the Presidential Award for Excellence for Math and Science Teaching in 2002 and was named semi-finalist for the Colorado Teacher of the Year award in 2010. He co-authored Flip Your Classroom: Reach every Student in every class every day (ISTE/ASCD, 2012) and is a co-founder of the Flipped Learning Network.
Gray works with a variety of institutions on 21st century learning strategies and directs the Consortium for School Networking’s Leadership for Mobile Learning initiative. She founded the Global Education Collaborative, a network for educators interested in project-based learning which has been expanded into the Global Education Conference. She has also been recognized with Google Certified Teacher and Apple Distinguished Educator awards.
